TEXTThe Fox Bros. Manufacturing Company, manufacturers of doors, sash, blinds and mouldings, whose mill and warehouse are located at the corner of Ohio avenue and Victor street, was established in 1877 by Mr. Geo. C. Fox, who continued it till 1888, when it was incorporated under the laws of Missouri with a paid-up capital of $50,000. Its trade now extends throughout all the sections of the city and state. The following gentlemen are the officers, viz: Geo. C. Fox, president; Phil. I. Fox, vice-president; E. A. Thomas, secretary. The premises occupied comprise a block 600 feet square, on which is erected the mill, warehouse, etc. The mill is a substantial two-story brick building 125x125 feet in area, fully equipped with the latest improved woodworking machinery, operated by a fifty horse-power steam engine. Here thirty-five mill hands are employed, who turn large quantities of doors, sash, etc. Everything in the way of dimension lumber, dressed lumber, sidings, mouldings and other planing mill work is executed to order, and every facility is at hand for turning out work promptly and in the best manner. They have furnished their productions for many of the finest buildings latterly erected, in St. Louis. Estimates are promptly furnished for all kinds of inside woodwork and complete satisfaction is guaranteed patrons. Messrs. Geo. C. and Phil. I. Fox are natives of Erie, Pa., but have resided in, St. Louis, the former since 1866 and the latter since 1872, while Mr. E. A. Thomas was born in this city.
