TEXT | The demand for medium grade sideboards and wardrobes is well supplied by the Wolf & Kramer Furniture Co., whose spacious office, warerooms and factory are located on the corner of Twenty-second and Mullanphy streets. They began business in 1881, and became incorporated five years later, with a capital of $15,000. The works consist of a fine three story brick building, 100 x 130 feet in dimensions, supplied with modern machinery, driven by a steam engine of one hundred horse power. The lumber yard adjoining is piled with carefully selected oak, walnut and poplar, no less than 700,000 feet of which is used every year. Seventy-five skilful cabinetmakers are constantly at work, and the articles they produce evince the highest style and finish. The officers are Mr. G. Wolf, president and treasurer; Mr. Aug. Kraemer, vice-president; and Mr. C. Meckfessel, secretary, and were all members of the old firm. Mr. Wolf is a native of Baltimore, Md., but came here when a boy, and his colleagues were born in Germany. |
