THEMABeschreibung
TEXTThe substantial growth of St. Louis during the past twenty years has developed the manufacture of building materials to such an extent that no city in the United States has better facilities for producing all kinds of wood finish for buildings. In this connection we desire to refer specially to Mr. A. Kuenzel, manufacturer of sashes, doors, blinds and trimmings, whose office and factory are situated at 2716-2720 South Third street. Mr. Kuenzel, who is a thoroughly practical and expert manufacturer, established this business in 1882 and his trade is chiefly in the city and its vicinity. The factory is a substantial one-story brick building 77x154 feet, while the yard opposite the storage is 135x140 feet in dimensions. The different departments are fully equipped with modern tools, machinery and appliances, operated by a fifty horse-power steam engine. Here thirty skilled workmen are employed, who turn out large numbers of sash, doors and blinds. Mr. Kuenzel also attends carefully to planing and molding, scroll sawing and fine cabinet work, and likewise furnishes estimates for all kinds of inside wood work at the lowest possible prices consistent with first-class workmanship and the best materials. He consumes 1,500,000 feet of choice lumber annually, and offers always favorable inducements to builders, dealers and contractors. Mr. Kuenzel was born in Austria, but has resided in St. Louis for the past eighteen years. He is widely known for his integrity and energy, and is extremely popular in trade circles.
