| TEXT | The Stephens Lithographing and Engraving Company has been one of the most successful in St. Louis. Their resources are ample, 40,000 being paid up out of a capital of 50,000, and their splendid four-story and basement brick affords the best facilities for excellent work. Two steam engines of twenty-five and five horse-power, respectively, operate machinery of the latest type. They transact a very large business, which covers the whole of the United States, Canada, Newfoundland, Mexico, etc. A specialty is made of commercial and bank engraving on stone, wood and steel. A staff of eighty expert assistants is constantly employed under the personal supervision of the officers. These are Mr. W. E. Stephens, a native of this State and formerly connected with Messrs. Aug. Gast & Co, president; Mr. Carl Moller, vice-president, who also holds the position of secretary of the Mound City Distilling Co.; Mr. R. T. Forbes, secretary and treasurer, and Mr. Otto Starck, manager, all gentlemen who enjoy the confidence and esteem of the community. |
