TEXTThe St. Louis Expanded Metal Company is a concern deserving the highest indorsement, and one that is doing much to benefit our city in manufacturing a high grade of metal work. The company was incorporated Nov. 1, 1888, under Missouri state laws. The following named gentlemen are the officers: President, D. E. Garrison; vice-president, W. O. Garrison; secretary and treasurer, J. D. E. Garrison, Jr. The manufactory is located at Nos. 1819 to 1825 Pine street, and consists of a splendid five-story building, 60x100 feet in dimensions. This is fitted with the most approved machinery, and has for a motor an excellent sixty horse power engine of the most approved pattern. They employ from twenty-five to fifty workmen, and manufacture artistic metal work. In their expanded metal, they have fencing, window and tree guards, grape-arbors, lattice work, trellises, signs, office railings, etc. This metal is solid and substantial, and is most attractive in appearance. Their wire work includes plain and ornamental wire work of all kinds, elevator inclosures, flower stands, stable fixtures, bank and office railings, chairs, settees, etc. In iron work they make iron fencing, window guards, gratings, plain and ornamental grilles, wrought iron work of all kinds. Their brass work includes all kinds of brass work for office railings, mesh and scroll work in any design, etc. Their specialties are expanded metal lathing, a fire-proof steel lathing specified by the U. S. Government, and used by the leading architects and builders in the country, especially in the East, and is daily becoming more popular, and the trade of this company extends throughout the South, Southwest, and West.
