| Anmerkungen | Teil der "Aberdeen Freezing and Chilling Company Ltd" (Schlachthof). Evidence to date indicate that this site is the first Pumping Station on the Upper Hunter River. it has now been in existence for over 100 years and except for the Boiler House is surprisingly intact; the well is still in use. The pumps are generally, in excellent condition and are probably the last survivors of this type and size of pump in Australia.
The site is important, because it demonstrates late nineteenth century technology for the pumping of water on a commercial scale. |
